Every decent website has it's list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): ours is no exception! Unlike many FAQs, ours isn't a thinly-disguised exercise in Socratic questioning by a rookie marketing copy writer...
We are asked lots of questions on a regular basis; click here for the answers to some of these in our continually evolving FAQ.
Our Help Sheets contain basic information and simple guidance to help you make computer-related decisions. The range is continually expanding - topics included or planned include "How to Choose a Reliable Computer", "Is It Worth Upgrading?", "Broadband and Wireless Broadband", "Protecting Your Computer from the Internet".
For step-by-step instructions on how to do specific tasks, try our Tutorial Guides.
Advice is free, but good advice is priceless...
We constantly see people make bad (computer-related) purchasing and tactical decisions for lack of useful advice, so our Recommendations page aims to correct that, at least for a few basics such as Internet safety, printers, screens and laptops.
Much of the software we recommend is freely available on the Internet, if you know where to look. Our Software Downloads page gives you the links and information you need to find it easily.
The choice of software available can be overwhelming, and you can easily waste a lot of time and money buying inappropriate packages. Also there is plenty of excellent, free software available on the Internet; the problem is knowing what is both safe to try and worth trying, and what is not. We have a lot of experience with all sorts of software, so to help you out we have compiled a categorised list of recommendations, giving our reasons and advice for each category.
At the risk of doing ourselves out of work(!), we are developing a series of Troubleshooting Guides to help you to help yourself. These are simple guides to help you make sure you haven't overlooked the easy and/or obvious - the sort of advice we regularly give over the phone when clients ring us with a problem.
Our Tutorials Guides are step-by-step instructions on how to do specific tasks in Windows. We have concentrated on tasks that would be useful to most people and should be simple, but aren't necessarily obvious. For example, "How to stop programs from starting automatically" and "How to use the Task Bar".

There are many ways to find websites, but as with anything, personal recommendation is one of the best, so here is our unique guide to some useful sites on the World Wide Web. Our choices are strongly influenced by our core business, so if you work in a school or have children at primary school you will find much of relevance. The list of categories below links directly to the appropriate sections on our Really Useful Websites page.
